TOP DOG: the hunt is on for our best winery or vineyard dog

The important working roles that dogs play in the wine sector are being recognised in a new competition, promoted by leading industry employment site Winejobs.

Four-legged working companions have long held a central place in Australian and New Zealand wineries and vineyards, and now the industry’s ‘Top Dog’ is being sought.

For this unique competition, Winejobs is looking for the wine dog with the best tail, err… tale.

From winery mascot to security to pest controller, the canine employee with the best job wins.

Dogs can work hard, be skilled at their occupation and be valued members of the team. So, in less than 100 words, describe the key role that your dog plays in the winery or vineyard. Be specific about your dog’s day-to-day tasks. Also, send in a photo of your Top Dog on the job, along with your winery/vineyard logo, to be in with a chance to win.

The first prize winner will not only be featured on the front cover of the magazine, but they’ll also win a 12 month subscription to Australian & New Zealand Grapegrower & Winemaker (or a 12 month extension to existing subscribers).

A special People’s Choice winner will also feature in the magazine and win a 12 month subscription to Australian & New Zealand Grapegrower & Winemaker magazine (or 12 month extension to existing subscribers).

Winning and shortlisted entries will be showcased on winejobs.com.au, Daily Wine News and social media channels, while all entrants will receive a Winejobs 25% discount coupon code for job listings to use between 1 December 2021 and 31 March 2022.

Entries close on Friday 29 October 2021.
