Entries open for the 2012 Canberra International Riesling Challenge

Entries for the 2012 Canberra International Riesling Challenge (CIRC) are now open. This year’s event will see the introduction of the internationally recognised 100 points judging system which will align the CIRC with major international wine events.

The 2012 judging panel, led by Ben Edwards, president of Sommeliers Australia, will include three top international judges. Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Master of Wine and wine writer for Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate, Steffen Schindler, German Wine Institute, and Brent Marris, winemaker, the Ned Winery, New Zealand, will join Don Young, senior white winemaker Orlando Wines, Toni Paterson, journalist and Master of Wine and Kerri Thompson, winemaker from Wines by KT.

Judging will take place 9 – 11 October with winners announced at the Awards Ceremony on Friday 12 October. The seminar on Riesling Excellence will be held on Friday 12 October followed by the Riesling Masterclass.
