The Margaret River Wine Association (MRWA) has announced the appointment of Peter Campbell as its new chair. With experience in finance, business advisory, and governance, and a deep connection to the Margaret River region, MRWA said Campbell will bring “invaluable” expertise and leadership to the role.

“As a member of the wider Margaret River community for many years, I have been aware of the great work which the association does in promoting the uniqueness of the Margaret River wine brand,” said Campbell, adding that he was “very much looking forward” to working with the association’s board and CEO.

Campbell has worked across various sectors both in Australia and overseas, leading his own advisory firm since the late 1990s, and has served as State President and National Director of the Australian Human Resources Institute.

A long-standing member of the Margaret River community (some 25 years), Campbell has lived in rural Yallingup for the past 15 years, and has served as Lead Bushfire Ready Facilitator for the northern Capes since 2013, and chaired the Yallingup Rural Volunteer Bushfire Brigade for the past eight years. Campbell’s connection to the region’s wine industry extends to his membership in a local winemaking syndicate.
