On-line and hard copy entry forms for the 2013 Sydney International Wine Competition are now available at www.top100wines.com. As usual, entries to the competition will be capped at 2000.
Organisers of the competition, which is sponsored by the Australian & New Zealand Grapegrower & Winemaker magazineare, are giving wineries the chance to enter two of their wines free of charge by liking the SIWC’s Facebook page between now and 30 June.
The competition’s 13-member international judging panel (plus one junior reserve judge in residence) will comprise 11 returning judges, namely Kym Milne MW, South Australia (chief judge); Adrian Atkinson, United Kingdom; Brent Marris, New Zealand; Ken Dobler, New South Wales; Mark Robertson, SA; Meg Brodtmann MW, Victoria; Neil Hadley MW, NSW; Oliver Masters, NZ; Steve Flamsteed, Vic.; Warren Gibson, NZ; and Xenia Irwin MW, UK. The three new faces on the panel are: Marian Jansen op de Haar, United States, chief consultant, Vines 57, Napa, California; Wilfred Wong, US, cellarmaster for BevMo liquor stores; and Tom Hogan, Vic. (reserve judge in residence), chief sommelier and wine buyer for Lake House, Daylesford, Victoria.
