Award announced to recognise ‘champions’ in biosecurity

In recognition of 125 years of keeping South Australian phylloxera free in 2024, Vinehealth Australia has announced its inaugural Biosecurity Champion Award.

This annual competition is open to South Australian growers, vineyard owners, contractors, consultants, suppliers and researchers. It aims to raise awareness of the role of biosecurity in sustaining South Australian vineyards.

The title of Vinehealth Australia Biosecurity Champion will be awarded to the person who demonstrates outstanding achievements in biosecurity practices. The competition will assess biosecurity and farm-gate hygiene knowledge and activities across multiple categories, including pest and disease management and prevention.
