The Vinwizard “Smart Load Shedding” module enables customers to control power usage more intelligently. Various triggers can be monitored and the system set up to take action when setpoints are reached. Examples would be turning cooling off to tanks based on priority levels if glycol temperatures rise, multiple setpoints can be used to stage this process. Once the refrigeration plant catches up, tanks are turned back on. This can have the effect of automatically managing the load on the refrigeration plant.
Triggers such as Maximum Demand could also be used (with appropriate power monitoring equipment in place) to shut down plant and equipment temporarily. Maximum Demand penalties are becoming a significant portion of electricity charges so controlling it provides great potential to reduce power costs.
