China’s tariffs on Australian winemakers have been blamed for the financial collapse of a bottling facility in Adelaide’s north, according to The Advertiser.
Contract wine packaging facility Southern Bottling Company has closed its doors and called in administrators with debts reportedly exceeding $3 million.
Unsecured creditors, including major supplier Vinpac, are owed about $2.2m, while six permanent employees have lost their jobs, and a similar number of casual staff have been let go.
