The South Australian Wine Industry Association (SAWIA) has announced that its 2024 Excellence Awards are now open for entry.
The SAWIA Excellence Awards celebrate South Australian grape and wine businesses and individuals who excel in environmental management and workplace health and safety.
Previous winners have included off-grid wineries, enhanced vineyard biodiversity and creation of resilient landscapes, sustainable packaging programs, confined space initiatives, basket press modifications to improve worker safety.
“The SAWIA Excellence Awards recognises businesses and workers who go beyond the basics of workplace safety and environmental stewardship and provide solutions and inspiration for their workplaces and our industry,” said Inca Lee, chief executive of SAWIA.
There are six awards up for grabs in 2024.
SAWIA Environment Excellence Awards:
- Small to Medium Business
- Large Business
- Individual Champion
SAWIA WHS Excellence Awards:
- Small to Medium Business
- Large Business
- Individual Champion
Award sponsors for 2024 include Tarac, the Department of Primary Industries and Regions and Green Industries SA.
“Through recognising excellence in the critical areas of environmental stewardship and WHS, SAWIA aims to improve performance across the wine sector by encouraging all grape and wine businesses to achieve or exceed the benchmarks set by past winners and finalists,” Inca said.
