Young communicators keen to advance in the field of wine journalism have until 31 August to apply for the Wine Media Cadetship for 2011.
The cadetship aims to provide people with a pathway to enter their aspired field of wine journalism and is available to Australians aged 18-30.
The successful cadet will participate in a 10-week program in October where they will work in infield work placements, work with media professionals in a variety of media and travel overseas to a major wine event such as the Hong Kong or London International Wine Shows.
During 10 weeks, they will also write a blog and publish articles documenting their experiences, and act as a show steward or associate judge at the 2012 Royal Adelaide Wine Show.
To apply, candidates are requested to provide a written or video submission addressing the topic: How can the Australian wine industry harness new mediums of commutation to positively promote Australian wine?
The successful candidate will be announced at the Wine Press Club of South Australia Royal Adelaide Wine Show awards luncheon on 7 October.
