Cooperages 1912 Australia is pleased to announce an addition to its sales team. Nick James-Martin has been hired as Oak Barrel Consultant, joining Patrick Schwerdt and Steve Chapman in representing the company’s portfolio of oak barrel brands.
“We are thrilled to have Nick join our team,” said Patrick Schwerdt, general manager. “His winemaking knowledge and experience in many facets of the industry provide him with the skills to consult with our clients in regard to their oak barrel requirements.”
To date, James-Martin has over 16 years of experience in the wine industry. He earned a bachelor’s degree in wine marketing and a master’s degree in oenology from the University of Adelaide. After his studies, he subsequently worked vintages around the world and served as a winemaker in McLaren Vale. Over the years, he has also spent time working in wine-related media and developed connections with industry associations.
In his new role, James-Martin will be responsible for serving the McLaren Vale, Clare, Riverland, Riverina, Victoria, Tasmania and New Zealand markets.
