Vinwizard goes mobile
One of the leading tank temperature control and winery automation systems is now truly mobile. Our iPhone app (www.vinwizard.us/iPhoneSetup.htm) has been available for more than 12 months allowing iPhone users to keep an eye on their winery no matter where they are. Now we also have an Android app (www.vinwizard.us/AndroidSetup.htm) available so all smartphone users can monitor current tank temperature, set points and valve status plus change settings from the convenience of their phone.

Oak Solutions Group has published new research outlining the advantages of using oenological oak tannins to help fix and stabilise color in red wine. Working in conjunction with Rodney Strong Vineyards and Enotrex, the Oak Solutions Group research team conducted an experiment on Pinot Noir to evaluate the most effective treatment to benefit color fixation and stabilisation during a commercial size trial.

Save more wine from 2012 – Switch to Pluxcompact bentonite. Recent independant trials on 2012 fruit illustrated the large savings winemakers can make by changing to a new activated bentonite like Pluxcompact from the old sodium bentonite products. Cost savings in the independent trial were as high as 5 cents/Lt in premium parcels of fruit and down to one cent/Lt for fruit purchased at $250 per tonne.
