Geneva wine auction of secret cellar will bring in 4.5 million Swiss Francs

The Secret Cellar of a European collector: Baghera/Wines, the Geneva-based auction house announce their next sale, estimated Chf 4.5 million

On Sunday 2 December 2018, the 1363 bottles, 158 magnums and 3 jeroboams featuring this Domaine de la Romanée-Conti wine collection will be offered at auction, which promises to be unique in many ways. This sale of a private collection will be exclusively dedicated to the wines of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti: a first in the history of auctions.

Last June, the sale, Henri Jayer, The Heritage – The ultimate sale from the private cellar of Domaine Henri Jayer, became an historical event, setting a new record in the world of fine wine auctions, selling for CHF 34,5 million ($35 million). Baghera/wines thus strengthen their status as leading European fine wines auctioneer in 2018.

“For over 15 years now I have been visiting the world’s most exquisite cellars, discovering their hidden treasures and meeting eminent collectors who, like the monks silently accomplishing their tasks in their abbey, remain more frequently than not extremely secretive as to the object of their desire… And yet, I was completely taken by surprise on entering this unforgettable cellar, just like a secret cellar in a monastery which any aficionado would dream of having the keys to ! ”  Michael Ganne, Baghera/wines’ Executive Director.
