Overview

WineLab, a pop-up Friday-knock-off wine experience, will dissect the meeting of Wine, Art and Science at MOD. at UniSA, a futuristic museum of discovery, from 5 – 8pm on Friday October 18th

Presented by the South Australian Wine Industry Association, WineLab will host some of the most innovative names in South Australian wine, including  Shut the Gate, Longview, Karrawatta, Zonte’s Footsteps, Levrier by Jo Irvine, Deviation Road, The Pawn, Bleasdale and Dowie Doole while uncovering how art and science play a crucial and sometimes unseen influence on the wine industry.

WineLab is an opportunity to link wine, art and science for after-work drinks with a twist, hosted within the superb surrounds of MOD. – the ideal location for a collection of pop-up talks by wine scientists and aficionados:

  • Staff from the Australian Wine Research Institutewill offer an interactive wine sensory experience that will tantalise the taste buds and confound the senses in exploring the human palate.
  • Armando Corsi,Senior Marketing Scientist at the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science at UniSA, in association with the Australian Wine Flavour card, will explore the Chinese Lexicon Project, translating western tastes into Asian flavours, exploring the taste buds of the Chinese market for Australian wine.
  • Graham Ellenderfrom the University of Adelaide will present a talk on wine and the perception of flavour, particularly in relation to extrinsic factors that affect perception like music, glassware and mood.

 

WineLab guests will collect a souvenir wine glass on entry for $5, enabling them to purchase wine by the half glass, full glass or bottle.  Free wine tastings will be available from 5-6pm and a delicious selection of grazing table treats provided by Food Lore Kitchen.

This event is brought to you by the South Australian Wine Industry Association; Adelaide: A Great Wine Capital of the World; and MOD. at UniSA.

As a pop-up event, no tickets are pre-sold or bookings required for guests to attend.
