St Clair Family Estate in New Zealand and St Hallett Wines in Australia are just two of the 160 international wineries using the VinWizard control systems. St Clair Family Estate has around 260 tanks under VinWizard control.
Senior winemaker, Hamish Clark, reports annual power savings in the region of $24,000 through use of the optional VinWizard Load Scheduling. “Taking advantage of cheaper night rate power, we’re saving just over 2c per KWh used. While this may not sound a lot it adds up quickly and we get this every year.”
St Halletts has around 220 tanks and also reports significant savings through use of Load Scheduling. By slightly overchilling selected tanks during off-peak hours, automatically raising setpoints during peak times or simply pausing during peak times refrigeration load can be evened out reducing maximum demand and controlled to take advantage of off peak power.
