Have you used fining agents such as casein, skim milk and egg (whites and albumin)? If so, for exported non-vintage wines and wines dated 2012 and beyond, you are now required to carry allergen labelling unless they can be demonstrated free of residues. There’s no need to cry over spilt milk though… because as Australia’s longest serving dedicated wine industry laboratory, we are here to help! Over the last few months we have completed validation work on our ELISA Systems kits so we can analyse your wines for allergen residues to meet the new limits being enforced by the EU and Canada.
