Celebrating Australian wine on Australian turf

Wine Australia is encouraging wineries and associations to get involved in what they say will be the biggest event focussing on Australian wine in 2012.

The inaugural A+ Australian Wine Celebration will take place across the country from 13-29 April and aims to re-excite Australian consumers and trade about the quality and diversity of the wine produced on their home turf.

Wine Australia is behind the celebration, which has been developed as an ‘open access’ initiative, opening the program to be populated with events and activities driven by state and regional wine associations, along with individual wineries or brands.

Various activities are welcomed, and could include cellar door promotions, food and wine events, trade tastings, regional wine experiences, educational initiatives and vintage celebration dinners.

Wineries involved will benefit from direct consumer access and commercial opportunities via events, and involvement in a national celebration of Australian wine which will be marketed and promoted by Wine Australia.
