Yields were down by 50% on last year, with poor fruitset in December resulting in yields being reduced from 10 to 80%.
Andrew Pattison, president of the Macedon Vignerons Association, said that apart from the low yields, the quality was excellent due to the long, mild and dry autumn.
The quality of the reds is brilliant, although alcohols tend to be on the high side, he said. The whites are excellent.
