2002 vintage report for Hilltops (New South Wales)

Vintage started in mid February which was normal for the region, according to local spokeswoman Gail Norris.
Gail said the yield was down by about 30% on last year due to late spring frosts and dry, then very wet, conditions during harvest. After the rain the weather during vintage was cool and dry, and there were no major disease problems.
‘The quality of the grapes was excellent for the reds and reasonable for the whites,’ Gail said.
