2000 vintage report for Southwest Coastal (Western Australia)

Severe winds and hail during budburst and flowering in the South West Coastal region caused a decrease in yields, especially in the white varieties. However, Will Nairn of the wine producers’ association said lower crops meant higher quality fruit, and reports excellent flavour and beautiful fruit in reds. Sarah Siddons, winemaker at Baldivis Estate said the 2000 whites showed good flavour and aromas.
