Barossa wine school goes global with government grant

The Advertiser has reported that The Barossa Grape & Wine Association’s (BGWA) Wine School is going global thanks to a $150,000 government grant to expand its online presence.

The BGWA’s Wine School will be enhanced to audiences across the world thanks to a state government grant of $150,000, which was received after COVID-19 impacts hit visitor numbers, forcing it to focus its attention to an online offering.

BGWA chief executive James March said to The Advertiser the challenges posed by changes in international travel was one of many issues facing the industry due to the pandemic.

“We want to ensure that we continue to grow the international interest in the Barossa region and boost the number of marketplaces for our wine,” he said.
