2008 vintage report for Canterbury (NZ)

Overall, this past year has been a challenging one for many Canterbury growers. An October frost did some damage to vineyards without frost protection, and cool weather in February and in autumn slowed ripening in some vineyards. Harvest commenced in late April and was completed by 18 May. Despite the challenges faced by some growers this past summer, we are expecting some good quality wines to come out of the
wider area.
