Wine Stocks

According to the latest ABS data (2012-13), inventories of Australian beverage wine held by winemakers (who crush more than 400 tonnes) increased to 1.77 billion litres at 30 June 2013 (see table below). This was a 4.8% increase on last year's end of financial year figure and inventories remain lower than they were at the end of 2006 when the figure was 2.11 billion litres. Table wine inventories increased by 6.1% to 1.6 billion litres as at 30 June 2013.

White table wine accounted for 633 ML or 35.7% of the stock of total beverage wine stored by winemakers this year. Red/rosť table wine stocks of 987 ML litres represented 55.6% of the beverage wine stock held by winemakers.
