Highlights of 2014-15 included:

  • The total winegrape intake increased marginally to 1.7 million tonnes
  • Exports lifted by 7.8% to almost A$2 billion
  • Domestic sales of Australian wine down by 2.5% in volume terms
  • Wine imports up by 6.4% to more than A$700 million
  • The number of wine companies almost steady at 2,468, despite low levels of profitability across the industry
  • Accolade Wines extends its lead as Australia's largest wine company, based on wine grape intake, while Casella Wines becomes the second largest by overtaking Treasury Wine Estates.
