Call for technical papers
We are now inviting submissions from Australian and international grape and wine industry research personnel for technical papers for publication in the Australian & New Zealand Grapegrower & Winemaker 36th Annual Technical Issue, 2008.
Harvest up on last year but down on the 2005 record
At just under half complete, the 2008 Australian winegrape harvest is expected to be in the range of 1.55 to 1.65 million tonnes.
Be patient on river deal
Kevin Rudd has asked South Australians to be patient while the Commonwealth seeks to convince Victoria to agree to the $10 billion River Murray plan.
River could be changed forever
Water expert Professor Mike Young has warned that unless the coming winter delivers well above average rainfall, parts of the river system may have to be "abandoned or accepted as changed forever".
