Peter Dry steps down, but not out
One of Australia's best-known wine industry researchers, Associate Professor Peter Dry, stepped down from his position with the University of Adelaide at the end of August. Peter's achievements in viticultural science and teaching were celebrated yesterday with a gathering of friends, peers and colleagues at the University of Adelaide's Waite Campus. Guest speakers included Dr Richard Smart, Dr Patrick Iland, Professor Brian Loveys and viticultural consultant Di Davidson.
Judges name world's best Riesling in Canberra International Challenge
Hessische Staatsweinguter GmbH Kloster Eberbach’s 1991 Rauenthaler Baiken Riesling Eiswein from the Rheingau in Germany has taken out the major award at the 2008 Canberra International Riesling Challenge by winning the trophy for producing the Best Riesling in the World.
