Grape over supply creates wine industry fears
The South Australian Farmers Federation warns the wine industry could be spiralling out of control due to an over supply of grapes. With winegrape stocks up nearly 12 per cent in the past year, the federation says a 14 per cent rise in exports is not enough to reduce the glut, especially given the strong yield from the last harvest.
Top International Judges for Liquorland Top 100
With a little over a month before judging gets underway for the 2005 Liquorland Top 100 International Wine Competition event organisers are pleased to announce the appointment of UK-based wine judge Adrian Atkinson, Wine Development Manager for Allied Domecq World Wines, to the senior judging panel. Adrian will travel from the UK to join Chris Shanahan, Canberra Times wine writer and Mike DeGaris, from The Rothbury Estate, Hunter Valley, New South Wales.
