The Thirteenth Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference is delighted to announce Amcor Fibre Packaging as its major conference sponsor.
Keith Bishop, Amcor’s National Marketing Manager, said that “the sustainability of the Australian wine industry is critical, not only for Amcor, but for the Australian economy in general. The support of the Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference is one way to ensure the industry continues to be equipped with the latest knowledge and cutting-edge advancements – and this quality exposure puts this industry ahead of the curve.”
The Chairman of the AWITC Inc., Professor Sakkie Pretorius, praised Amcor’s contribution to the Australian wine industry and welcomed their participation as the conference sponsor.
“This industry has been through an extremely difficult vintage and has been hit hard, through drought, frosts and pests. It is important, now more than ever, that industry members look closely at their production and marketing practices to squeeze every ounce of opportunity available to them,” he said.
“Through Amcor’s support, we can ensure the continuation of a very strong technical program into the future, and the ongoing subsidy of this industry’s future workforce, the students, to attend this event.”
Registrations to the Conference, to be held in Adelaide on 28 July to 2 August 2007, have been very strong with 1,600 delegates expected.
The conference program covering grape and wine production through to the consumer will be presented by 15 experts from overseas countries, supported by 36 speakers from Australia. The program is complemented with the conduct of 57 workshops and the presentation of 285 posters.
Held alongside the Conference is WineTech 2007 – the Australian Wine Industry Trade Exhibition. More than 3,000 visitors are expected to attend WineTech at the Adelaide Convention Centre, which is free-of-charge to attend for industry members.
