Bordeaux, France, will play host to the 14th Vinexpo Exhibition from 17–21 June 2007. Strictly reserved for wine industry professionals, exhibitors from 43 wine producing countries will showcase their wears at the 12,000 square metre Parc des Expositions’ Exhibition Centre in Bordeaux, and the new Bordeaux Convention Centre.
Robert Beynat, chief executive of Vinexpo told the Wine Industry Journal that exhibition space for Vinexpo 2007 is booking fast, with 90% of the space already taken at mid-November this year.
Some of the new innovations for 2007 include ‘Club du Lac’, a new site offered to the world’s largest wine companies.
“Club du Lac will host a maximum number of 15 pavillions totalling 108 square metres, with open space and air-conditioning, private gardens and patios. These pavilions enable members to receive their guests in outstanding surroundings. At the time of writing, only one pavillion remained to be booked.
“Vinexpo 2007 has introduced new features which enhance its position as the leading exhibition for the sector. A new marketing section called ‘Marketers by Vinexpo’, will focus on systems and solutions for selling wines and spirits. Fully integrated into the Vinexpo complex, the Bordeaux Convention Centre is reserved for this new section, » Beyat said.
The ‘Marketers by Vinexpo’ section is dedicated to systems and solutions for selling wines and spirits to consumers. Manufacturers and distributors of equipment and accessories for supermarkets, the retail trade, or POS promotional aids, presentation equipment, or dedicated promotional media will benefit. Designers and publisher of marketing, merchandising or logistics solutions, communications agency, provider of training, IT or consultancy services will all be showcasing their offerings.
Presentations will be given by some of the world’s wine marketing experts including: 18 June — “Selling wine and spirits in restaurants” featuring a round table with worldwide sommeliers and restaurant owners. 19 June – “Wines and spirits in the wine retailers’ world” – discussion with wine retailers, purchasing directors of wine retailers in Europe, Asia and USA, and importers working for retail outlets. 20 June – “Super- and hypermarkets and wine – which stakes and perspectives?” – featuring a round table with buyers, marketing and merchandise managers, and large producers.
