Australian Viticulture November/December issue out now

The November/December issue of Australian Viticulture examines the ‘pre-harvest’ issues that are of most concern to growers.

Topics include OIV President Peter Hayes’ advice for dealing with frost, drought and other adversities, garden weevil management and what WA researchers are looking at to combat the pest, key questions to ask the nursery before you purchase planting material. Getting your vineyard equipment in tip-top shape for the busy months ahead, insight to fighting against starling invasion, and organic viticultural success in Tasmania are other key articles in the issue.

As the Cooperative Research Centre for Viticulture continues through its wind-up phase, Australian Viticulture publishes a commemorative feature including tributes and comments from Paul Clancy, Dr Jim Hardie, Dr Jim Fortune, Stephen Strachan, Mark McKenzie and others.

Dr Peter Pratten, proprietor of Capel Vale Wines in WA introduces this issue’s Varietal Report on Verdelho. We hear from a range of Australian growers of Verdelho and learn the various techniques that can be employed to produce top-quality fruit.

There’s all this and more in the 116-page November/December issue of Australian Viticulture, available by subscription now at http://www.winebiz.com.au or by calling Winetitles on (08) 8292 0888.
