On the 17th & 18th of November 2006 the new Queensland College of Wine Tourism on the Granite Belt will be hosting the ‘tastes of the granite belt’ Wine Fiesta for the Granite Belt Wine Tourism.
Friday night starts the Fiesta with Black Tie Dinner at the College featuring 5 courses matched to fine Granite Belt wines. Tickets are $95 and seats are limited. Saturday the 18th of November is set to be a great showcase of all the Granite Belt has to offer with stalls of local food, award winning wine and merchandise. Starting at 10am and finishing at 6pm for the $10 entry, you’ll receive a monogrammed glass for wine tasting, entertainment, competitions, “people’s choice” wine judging, informative demonstrations and plenty of prizes.
One of the other features of the day will be the masterclass presented by three of the Queensland College of Wine Tourism foundation wine donors – Kominos Wines, Casley Mt Hutton and Ballandean Estate. Learn what makes Verdelho a great variety for the Granite Belt, taste the regional characters in Granite Belt Merlot and identify the cool climate flavours of Viognier. Each wine will be complimented by finger food prepared by a local chef.
Bookings are essential for the Masterclass for catering purposes @ $25 per ticket and can be made on (07) 46816333.
