Millbrook Winery is very pleased to announce that its 2006 Sauvignon Blanc was the only wine awarded GOLD in Class 4, Sauvignon Blanc, Any Vintage, and to win the trophy for Best Sauvignon Blanc in the Show, at the 2006 Royal Adelaide Wine Show.
Tony Davis, Senior Winemaker at Millbrook, said: "This is a fantastic result after winning Gold at the Melbourne and Rutherglen Wine Shows, and Silver at the Brisbane Show. It confirms that the cool 2006 vintage for Western Australian whites has produced wines that are wonderfully elegant and aromatic, with super length of palate due to the high levels of natural acidity. It is recognition that our Sauvignon Blanc ranks as one of the best in the nation."
The fruit for the Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from premium growers in the Margaret River, Geographe and Great Southern regions of Western Australia.
The Millbrook 2004 Cabernet Malbec was also awarded GOLD in Class 23, Blends Labelled with only Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot in any Percentage of any Vintage.
The Sauvignon Blanc will be released in January 2007 and the Cabernet Malbec in March 2007. Both are available through cellar door and the Australian distributors below. The Sauvignon Blanc is RRP $20 and the Cabernet Malbec is RRP $35.
