RSM Bird Cameron Geographe Wine Show 2006

This year the wine show takes place on the 5th October 2006 at the All Seasons Sanctuary Golf Resort, Bunbury. Judging will occur during the day, culminating by 5pm. It is then followed by the Gala Presentation Dinner that evening.

Over 180 wines have been entered across 16 Classes. Shiraz classes are very well supported. We are seeing diversity in the red varietals with Merlot, Nebbiolo, Zinfandel, Tempranillo and Sangiovese making a good representation. White varietals are also increasing with Semillon, Viognier, Riesling, Verdelho, and Sauvignon Blanc. Total entries to the show have increased by 20% this year to 42 exhibitors.

The Judges for the 2006 Wine Show are John Hanley (Chief Judge), John Griffith, John Jens and Darelle Sinclair (Associate Judge).

With the growing interest and production of Rose styles of wine, this year we see the introduction of a separate class for these wines.

After the Geographe Wine Show Awards night the public will have the opportunity to come along and experience all the wines that have been entered in this year’s show. Public Tasting Events are being held on the 8th October 2006 at All Seasons Sanctuary Golf Resort, in Bunbury, and at the Mandurah Entertainment Centre on the 14th January 2007.

With a growing wine industry in the Geographe Region and an equally fast growing reputation for quality, the concept of a competitive wine show to showcase the region’s wines, was first conceived and held in 2001 and sponsored by RSM Bird Cameron who to this day continues as the major sponsor of the event
