Australian delegates drink in tour of China

17 Australian and New Zealand wine industry delegates are currently learning more about the Chinese wine industry on Winetitles’ hosted tour of China with Asian wine authority, Denis Gastin.

The seven-day tour, which began last Saturday, was arranged by Winetitles in association with Travelplan. The tour includes winery visits, vineyard visits, access to online wine marketing suppliers in China, and wine supplier and technology study visits.

Denis Gastin said the involvement of Austrade was particularly important for delegates who wished to firm up their views about China as a market for wine, equipment or services.

Some of the delegates have chosen to extend their visit in China by remaining in Shanghai beyond this weekend’s tour close. Denis Gastin has personally assisted in making further contacts and networking functions possible for tour guests.

The final instalment of Gastin’s three-part series on wine in China appears in the October issue of The Australian & New Zealand Grapegrower & Winemaker magazine. It is reading that should not be missed for all Australian wine industry participants who are interested in growing their opportunities in the Chinese wine market.

PDFs of the three-part series will be available and can be purchased from Ryan Publications, publisher of The Australian & New Zealand Grapegrower & Winemaker magazine. Email:
