Sample the latest whites in time for Summer

Nothing beats a chilled white wine in the warm weather, so the Margaret River Wine Industry Association is offering wine trade and media the chance to be amongst the first to taste its members’ latest release whites before Summer arrives.

The inaugural Margaret River Whites Day will be held on Monday, October 16 at Fraser’s Restaurant, Kings Park from 11.30am to 4.30pm.

The event is part of the Association’s strategic initiative to showcase the latest vintages from one of Australia’s premier fine wine regions. The Margaret River Whites Day will feature a range of producers, from the large estates to niche wineries and new labels.

It is the first time Margaret River wineries have dedicated a tasting to latest release white wines, giving trade an opportunity to discover new wines for their customers.

MRWIA President Ron Fraser said the event was the perfect place to gauge the depth and quality of white wines offered by its Margaret River producer members.

“As the emphasis is on wine trade and media, the day is an ideal opportunity for dedicated business networking,’’ Mr Fraser said.

“Sommeliers, wine bar managers, liquor retailers, distributors and all the wine trade can find what they need under one roof, which is not only exciting but extremely important in the busy hospitality industry.”

Aimed at being an annual day, the Margaret River Wine Industry Association will also hold an event dedicated to latest release red wines in July 2007. Interest has already been shown in Sydney, with plans to take the Whites Day and Reds Day to the Eastern states next year.
