Tarac environment future fund applications for round 2 sought

One of Australia’s longest running wine processing companies, Tarac Technologies, is calling for applications for round 2 of the Tarac Environment Future Fund (TEFF).

TEFF allocates up to $20,000 a year to encourage innovative, sustainable solutions for the management of winery waste.

The fund could be used for an overseas study tour, a research project, further development of an emerging processing technology or an IT solution.

TEFF has support from the Winemakers’ Federation of Australia (WFA) and the Grape and Wine Research Development Corporation (GWRDC) as a recognition of Tarac’s contribution to Sustaining Success, The Australian Wine Industry's Environment Strategy.

Announcing round 2 of TEFF, Joint Chief Executive Officer, Nic Law, said that applications received in round 1 were of a very high standard.

“It is pleasing to see the amount of interest generated by the Fund. The applications received during the first round demonstrated the passion that people have for continually searching for new and innovative ways to manage winery waste within Australia. Consequently the selection committee awarded the Fund to two recipients, with additional financial assistance received from the GWRDC.”

Both projects are well underway and scheduled for completion at the end of 2006, after which results will be shared.

Applications for round 2 of the award close on Friday 13 October 2006.

An Application Form and Guidelines can be found by visiting the Tarac website – www.tarac.com.au/TEFF.asp.
