One of the world’s top culinary masters, Cheong Liew, will be the ambassador of the 2006 Fiesta! food and wine festival to be held this October in South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula region.
Cheong is the first ever ambassador for this gourmet event and has always been a great advocate of Fiesta! and the regional produce it celebrates and embraces.
“Fiesta! is a fantastic opportunity for chefs, growers, food producers and winemakers to showcase their products and extraordinary abilities, as well as celebrate the onset of Spring," Pip Forrester, Chair of Fleurieu Peninsula Food said.
Visitors to the Fleurieu Peninsula for Fiesta! events can taste their way across four wine regions — McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek, Currency Creek and Southern Fleurieu — over five weekends between 29 September — 29 October.
Favourite events back on the calendar include: the Fiesta! Olive Awards, d’Arenberg degustation with Chester Osborn, Cooking classes with Peter Hogg of Chapel Hill Gourmet Retreat, the Sensational Laboratory with Mark Lloyd of Coriole and the Arty Apron Lunch and Auction at Red Poles.
New release wines and olive oil tastings will be available at cellar doors across the region, while special regional dishes will be showcased at participating restaurants.
The full Fiesta! Program of events can be viewed online at www.fleurieufood.com.au and available at all Visitor Centres across Fleurieu Peninsula in October, or contact the McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Visitor Centre on 1800 628 410.
