New look Australian Viticulture launched

Australia’s premier viticulture magazine, Australian Viticulture launches a fresh new look this month with its Winter In The Vineyard-themed July/August issue.

With the magazine appointed the official publication of Wine Grape Growers’ Australia (WGGA) in June, this issue also launches the WGGA newsletter “The United Grower”, full of news from the recent Winegrape Summit.

In other features: Victoria-based journalist Catherine Watson looks at the pros and cons of irrigation versus dry-grown vineyards; we give a region by region overview of the 2006 harvest; the Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia provides details of its research into six-spotted mite; and all aspects of our focus topic ‘Winter in the Vineyards’ including frost are examined.

Rounding out the issue is the Varietal Report on Colombard, introduced by Joe Grilli of Adelaide Plain’s Primo Estate Wines, and we publish some of the latest research on climate change, one of the viticulture industry’s biggest concerns for the future.

All this and more, including the AWRI’s Agrochemicals registered for use in Australian viticulture 2006–07, and the VitiTrader classifieds can be found in the July/August Australian Viticulture.
