The 4th Australian Wine Industry Environment Conference will take place Thursday 2 August 2007 at the Adelaide Convention Centre in conjunction with the 13th Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference 28 July – 2 August, 2007.
The 4th Australian Wine Industry Environment Conference will build on the outstanding success of the previous conferences in 2000, 2002, and 2004. The 2007 full day event will respond to strategic and technical environmental issues to assist the industry meet challenges laid down by policy makers, customers and consumers.
“The environment is on the top of everyone’s priority list”, said Linda Bowes Chief Executive, South Australian Wine Industry Association. “Whether it is water, waste, organics, climate change or something else, everyone has a ‘hot’ environmental topic to address. Events like the environment conference brings like minds together to think strategically about these issues and how they are best addressed. The end result will be long term sustainable development of our industry on a global basis."
A ‘green exhibition’ will provide delegates and industry suppliers a chance to explore innovative environmentally-supportive products and services. Following the full day plenary session on Thursday 2 August, delegates will have the option of attending a full day technical tour on the Friday to view first hand vineyard and winery sites where innovative and interesting solutions have been put in place.
