Tandou Wines makes strong inroads in China

Tandou Wines was the only wine exhibitor from the South Eastern Region of Australia at the 14th China Kunming Import and Export Commodities Fair in Yunnan Province from Monday 5 to Saturday 10 June.
The Sunraysia Mallee Economical Development Board stand, which Tandou was part of, exhibited among 5000 stands to tap into the huge market potential of China’s Yunnan Province which boasts a population of 44,000,000 people.
General manager of sales and marketing — Tandou Wines, Amanda Cumming, is fluent in Mandarin having resided there in 1997 and is very familiar with China, its trends and its potential as a new market for Australian wines.
“Tandou’s Broken Earth range was showcased at this year’s fair and was received very well. I was fortunate enough to meet one of the largest distributors of wine in the Yunnan Province who reacted favourably to the Broken Earth wines and style,” says Amanda.
“We are working towards developing wines which suit the palate profile of the Chinese so we can access and successfully penetrate this unprecedented market for Australian wine.”
Tandou Wines is now actively pursuing a range opportunities for wine into China.
