Palandri Wines has secured the largest single export shipment of bottled, branded wines for any Western Australian wine company into the UK.
A UK supermarket group, with 1,800 retail food outlets, placed an order that will see Palandri Wines supply the group with 40,000 cases of 2005 Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon and 40,000 cases of 2005 Central Ranges Chardonnay.
Palandri Wines chief executive officer Darrel Jarvis said this was a significant deal that underpinned Palandri's position as a key Western Australian supplier to the UK and European markets at a time when regionality in the Australian category is gaining momentum.
“Continuing to build a globally-recognised Western Australian wine brand, this latest development attests Palandri as a significant player in the premium wine market in the UK and Europe,” Jarvis said.
"This deal, is, in part, testimony to Palandri being able to respond at pace to the demands of the UK market. As a business we are well positioned to capitalise on the opportunities that are affecting the Australian category at present.”
