Cookoothama gets its hands on the Trophy at Decanter World Wine Awards

Nugan Estate had an amazing first day at the London International Wine and Spirit Fair (LIWSF) yesterday collecting a Trophy, Gold and six Silver medals between the Decanter World Wine Awards and International Wine Challenge, whose results were both announced yesterday.

In the Decanter World Wine Awards the Cookoothama Botrytis Semillon 2005 scooped the highly contested Trophy for Best Regional Sweet Wine under £10. The family also collected two Silver medals for its 2004 Nugan Estate McLaren Vale Shiraz and 2003 Nugan Estate Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon in the same competition.

Not satisfied with this trio of accolades, Decanter will be showing 23 Australian wines in its 'Unsigned Talent Tasting' at the LIWSF, with the Nugan Estate and Cookoothama ranges making up 7 of the 23 Australian wines qualifying for this tasting.

Nugan Estate also collected a swag of medals at the International Wine Challenge including;

2003 Cookoothama Pigeage Merlot — Gold 2003 Nugan Estate Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon — Silver 2002 Nugan Estate Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon — Silver 2004 Nugan Estate Coonawarra Chardonnay — Silver 2004 Nugan Estate King Valley Chardonnay — Silver

A very proud, Nugan Estate winemaker, Daren Owers commented,

“The awards are a fantastic result for Nugan Estate. We work hard at producing quality wines from the vineyard through to the bottled product and these awards are a ‘pat on the back’ for all our people who are so dedicated to over-delivering on value for the consumer.”
