New chief executive of the VWIA

Following an exhaustive search the VWIA is pleased to announce that Joanne Butterworth-Gray has been appointed as the new chief executive of the association.

Joanne has a strong commitment to the industry having been an active member of wine, food and tourism groups as well as running her own very successful agri-business. She is a strong advocate with networks in both the private and government sectors and has successfully driven the development of the various bodies she has been involved with.

“Joanne has the skills and importantly the strength and determination required to deal with the issues facing the industry” said Michael Matthews, Chair of the VWIA. “What impressed us was her desire to provide more benefits directly back to the members and the industry as a whole. Our board wants to give more focus to member services and assist members with developing their businesses in a very difficult market”.

“The new industry Strategic Plan, Vintage 2010, is about to be released and it addresses the issues our members face” Matthews continued. “Joanne is joining us at a critical stage and the implementation of Vintage 2010 will be a key priority”.
