Opportunities to develop practical new strategies and actions to improve industry performance and economic sustainability are available to the horticulture industry.
Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Minister Peter McGauran announced $2 million in partnership funding to help secure the economic future of the industry which could lead to improved export returns.
“The support I am announcing recognises that industry faces significant challenges, such as a marked rise in production,” he said.
“This funding is designed to back the industry in its efforts to develop practical strategies and actions for its long-term future.
“It is important we move quickly to identify the current and emerging threats, and to identify how best to deal with these challenges.”
Mr McGauran said that, while this funding round has a focus on horticulture, Action Partnerships is open to all agriculture, fisheries and forestry industries.
