Wine Industry Tasmania (WIT) has confirmed the appointment of Sheralee Davies as its new chief executive. Davies has accepted the position after more than a decade with Winemaker’s Federation of Australia, where she delivered the international Wine Australia events in 2004 and 2006 and managed public relations activities and membership services. More recently, Davies held the position of group global public relations manager for Constellation Wines Australia, with accountability for corporate and marketing communications across more than 25 individual wine brands. Davies says she is delighted to be in a position to support Tasmania’s wine producers and grapegrowers. “Tasmania is perfectly positioned to build on its deserved reputation for premium wines and I look forward to ensuring the world’s knowledge of Tasmania’s exceptional wine quality continues to grow,” she said. Davies will commence her new role on April 26, replacing outgoing executive officer Stuart Nettleford.
