There's been a flurry of last minute entries for the tenth 2010 International Chardonnay Challenge.
Entries have flooded in from all over New Zealand and Australia, with Turkey and France also entering this year.
Competition director Prue Younger has extended the closing date to April 6 for those who have left entries until the last minute.
“We want everyone to be part of our 10th anniversary celebrations,” she said.
“So if you have left it to the last minute, it's no April Fool’s joke … we are leaving it open now until April 6.”
Judging in the Gisborne-based competition starts on May 26 and runs through to May 28 when there will be a gala awards dinner to announce the trophy winners.
There will also be a Chardonnay forum on May 28, including international speakers and panel discussions covering topics from viticulture to winemaking research and up-to-the minute market data.
