In the past week four wineries have contacted the Royal Flying Doctor Service to verify requests for wine products from a male individual for alleged fundraising purposes.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service is not a party to these requests and does not endorse these activities in any way.
The request is for product to be delivered to an address in Melbourne (in most cases) to a hotel where he is a ‘guest’.
Companies should contact the Royal Flying Doctor Service in their State immediately to verify any and all funding requests.
It is Royal Flying Doctor Service policy that each request for goods or services for fundraising activity is accompanied by a written request or proposal on RFDS letterhead.
This matter has been reported to both the Victorian Police and Consumer Affairs.
