Applications are open for the fourth intake in 2010 of the wine industry’s successful Future Leaders – a succession program for the Australian wine sector.
Specifically tailored to the wine sector, the program seeks to accelerate the emergence of industry leaders by developing leadership, project management skills and industry knowledge.
Forty-five graduates have completed the first three intakes and are already taking on key industry roles.
“Over the first three years we’ve involved winemakers and grape growers through to marketers, sales executives and researchers, and we’re looking for a similar diversity next time,” said Winemakers’ Federation of Australia chief executive Stephen Strachan.
“The concept has been a great success and there is a high demand for places for the 15 places each year.”
The 2010 program will involve five sessions – a total of 14 days – in five different locations between May and October.
Participants must be able to attend all sessions.
Information and application forms are available from the WFA website at www.wfa.org.au.
Applications close on Monday 16 November 2009.
Program costs are covered by industry funding but participants pay their own travel and accommodation expenses.
Future Leaders is a joint initiative of WFA, the Australian Wine and Brandy Corporation, the Grape and Wine Research and Development Corporation, and Wine Grape Growers Australia.
The program is delivered by the not-for-profit company Australian Rural Leadership Foundation.
