Decanter World Wine Awards comes to Sydney

Sydney will host tastings for one of the world’s biggest wine competitions this October when the Decanter World Wine Awards comes to Australia for the first time.

The competition has attracted 10,289 entries from all corners of the globe, and Sydney restaurant Glass Brasserie will offer a chance to taste medal-winning wines by the glass.

This includes 30 Decanter World Wine Awards winners, as well as Glass Brasserie’s own list of more than 800 wines.

Glass Brasserie head sommelier Kim Bickley says she is ecstatic that Decanter chose the restaurant for its first ever Australian promotion.

“It will be an exciting opportunity for our guests to try some of the wines judged finest in the world, like Fraser Gallop's Bordeaux beating Margaret River red,” she said.

The tastings will run from October 9 to 22, with parallel tastings held at Selfridge’s in London, and Pudao: The Wine Way in Singapore.
