Wirra Wirra turns 40

In 1969, under the watchful eye of the late Greg Trott and his first-cousin Roger, Wirra Wirra winery was rebuilt from the remnants of two walls and some slate fermenting tanks.

As with all subsequent Trott endeavours, it was the sheer magnitude and unlikeliness of the project that made it so attractive.

In 2009, Wirra Wirra now celebrates 40 years of winemaking, great achievements and the support of unwavering loyal followers.

To celebrate this milestone, Wirra Wirra will be holding a series of dinner celebrations, and a private tasting of current wines.

Wirra Wirra has partnered with some of Australia’s best restaurants, including Otto Ristorante in Sydney, Restaurant Two in Brisbane, and Grossi Florentino in Melbourne.

A dinner will also be held at the winery in McLaren Vale, South Australia.
