New VFF president to speak at Rural Press Club

Newly elected VFF president Andrew Broad will address this month’s Rural Press Club of Victoria at a lunch tomorrow at the Hilton on the Park.

Broad said he was looking forward to meeting with key representatives from the rural press to present his vision for the future of Victorian agriculture.

“Victoria’s rural press is instrumental in not only informing rural communities about the current state-of-play of Victorian agriculture, but in shaping its opinion of modern farming,” Broad said. “I’m looking forward to addressing members and guests of the Rural Press Club and outlining my view on creating a viable industry moving ahead.”

“I have a firm belief that Victorian agriculture has a strong future. Our farmers contribute to the economy, to the environment and to the culture of this country. But a strong future industry requires the sharing of ideas and information to help drive the sector forward, and the work of the rural press is vital in making this happen.

“I encourage anyone who values agriculture to come along to the Rural Press Club lunch, whether you’re from the rural press or simply interested in the future success of the industry,” Broad said.
